About Us
We are Matthew and Barnaby Holt, Father and Son Master Thatchers. We consider ourselves to be a very friendly, knowledgeable, family run business, with the complete running done so within house.
We work throughout southern England on all aspects of thatch from full re-builds to small patches and repairs.

I Am Matthew. I was born and raised in Hampshire, and since leaving school in the late 1970's, I have gained over 40 years experience working extensively throughout Hampshire + West Sussex and the surrounding counties, even travelling as far afield as South Carolina. I am a one time winner of the National Society of Master Thatchers Best Thatched House competition and now work alongside my son Barnaby.
I am Barnaby. I started my thatching career 20 years ago as a Saturday job, then soon after started an apprenticeship with my father's thatching business.
Since then I have worked with numerous thatchers around Hampshire where I have taken an active interest in the craft and I am proud to be a 2nd generation master thatcher.
